The annual Spring Meeting of the ANDP will be held in Bethesda, MD on May 3 and May 4, 2008, and will feature a number of exciting and lively sessions on topics relevant to the present and future of neuroscience education and research. Topics will include reports on the 2007 ANDP Survey of Neuroscience Programs, and on the National Research Council’s Assessment of Research-Doctorate Programs, and a discussion of what this information may mean; recent trends in the evaluation of NIH training grants from a reviewer’s perspective; the challenge of promoting diversity in neuroscience training programs; neuroscience training and education from an international view; and the impact of the current NIH funding drought on the future of graduate programs. Dr. Shirley

Programs at the American Association for the Advancement of Science will be our after-dinner speaker on May 3, and will address the issue of “Women and minorities in neuroscience: Is there a future?“.
